Do I Own a Shitcoin?

Ethos - Shitcoin Review

Aug 31, 2018

*puts whisky down*

Guys, the universe is one.

We are one in the same.

It’s beautiful…

BUT NOT IN CRYPTO.

Wallets suck, and you need an individual wallet for most coins.

One project (of many) working on a universal wallet is our coin review of the day: Ethos.

Let’s dig in…

Ethos (ticker: ETHOS)

Mid-Tier Shitcoin

Wtf is this shit?

Ethos is a project aiming to make it easy for anyone to use and interact with cryptocurrencies. WHAT A UNIQUE MISSION. Jokes aside, they have been receiving a decent amount of traction.

Ethos, formerly known as Bitquence, began to gain traction after their rebrand and ICO in 2017. They are an ERC-20 token (which also makes this a quicker review...ERC-20 tokens can be simpler to explain since they piggy back on awesome tech and can’t make their own..lol jk, relax, why are you still reading this, I have ADD, you crazy, not me...).

They are working on a universal wallet and payments/exchange gateway. They also have an app available on both iOS and Android.

They plan to accept hundreds of coins in their universal wallet, and only require the user to manage ONE private key. One private key to manage all of your funds is a big deal, especially for onboarding noobies to the crypto world.

Ethos also plans to tackle the investment aspect of interacting with crypto.

They will offer a fiat gateway, to exchange virtually any coin to fiat...as well as an exchange service to rebalance your portfolio entirely with Ethos. They also plan to offer automated investing services...but this can be good or bad…

As of late we have noticed that they are also emphasizing and creating solutions for businesses, particularly financial institutions, to interact with crypto. They call this effort Bedrock, and it is a "sophisticated, high-performance Blockchain Financial Services (BFS) platform," which allows businesses and developers to interact with the crypto world...via API's.

Bedrock's API solution includes:

  •  xAlert: a notification system for the status of a transaction's state
  • xWallet: an API enabling the creation of new keys, addresses, and also wallet management
  • xTransact: an API for signing transactions and verifying blockchain transactions
  • xVSF: Allows institutions to verify source of funds and any require company or personal information tied to funds
  • xLightning: Basically a faster notification system that is directly connected to nodes managing transactions on the network

Aaannnd that’s about it...they’re shooting for clean a UI/UX and focusing on ease of use, enabling anyone to use crypto.

Who tf is behind this shit?

They have a large team, but their founder and CEO is Shingo Lavine. He graduated from high school in 2016, so he is 20? Wow, yeah, 20. But, he went to Brown for 2 years, then started Ethos. He certainly stuck with the project and has grown a big team. So, while he is young and lacks experience, all we can do is see how he does.

Overall, Mid-Tier shitcoin. They are one of hundreds of projects aiming to be the go-to solution, so they have a shitton of competition. Despite the competition, they have managed to stand out a bit. Let’s see how they do!

Hope you learned some shit.
